The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners provides outreach and advocacy for the counties of North Carolina. The office renovation incorporated 11,000 square feet of private offices, collaborative space, and meeting areas. Their goal of combining two office locations into one space was a significant challenge. The NCACC leadership wanted the new space to support their culture of private offices while increasing departmental communication. In response, Davis Kane Architects worked carefully to incorporate glass in private offices and designate shared spaces. The ability of Association members and partnering organizations to meet with staff members is a high priority within the organization.
Davis Kane Architects incorporated flexible, welcoming collaborative spaces into each area that invite collaboration while preserving the privacy of the private offices.
